BYD Set to Launch Premium Denza D9 Electric MPV in India by Diwali 2026 or Expo 2027
BYD is reportedly preparing to launch its premium Denza D9 electric MPV in India by Diwali 2026 or at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in February next year. The luxury EV is expected to arrive as a CBU with a 600 km claimed driving range.
The Denza D9 is a premium multi-purpose vehicle that is expected to be positioned between the MG M9 and the Toyota Vellfire in the Indian market. The model is also expected to be imported into the country as a completely built unit (CBU).
In international markets, the Denza D9 is available with both electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. For India, BYD is likely to introduce the all-electric version initially, while the plug-in hybrid variant could be considered at a later stage.
The Denza D9 electric MPV is built on the e-Platform 3.0 and features an 800V electric architecture. It is equipped with a 103.36 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed driving range of up to 600 km.
The planned introduction of the Denza D9 marks BYD's reported move to expand its premium vehicle portfolio in India, with the electric MPV expected to compete in the luxury segment upon its arrival.
